We are the Ganaraska Chordsmen Chorus, 

AKA "The Ganaraskals!"

Who? Men of all ages from Port Hope, Cobourg, Northumberland County and beyond.

What?

A Barbershop Harmony Society chorus singing from memory and without accompaniment (a cappella).

Where?

Meeting at St. John's Parish Hall, 33 Pine St N, Port Hope, ON L1A 3G5.

When?

Most Tuesdays, 7PM-9:30PM, year-round. 

Why?

We love to sing and entertain.

How?

Led by an inspiring chorus director, we learn words and music with the aid of take-home sheet music and audio recordings. No previous music training is necessary, as long as you can carry a tune, in tune.

The Barbershop Harmony Society brings men together in harmony and fellowship to enrich lives through singing.

Music Director 

Rick Heath 2022-

Rick has been a member of Barbershop Harmony Society since 1976. He joined his father and brother in the Scarborough chapter and sang with the Scarborough Dukes of Harmony until 2010. After moving to Whitby, he joined the Oshawa Chapter. Rick started his directing as an assistant director at Oshawa and became primary Director when the chorus needed a director. Rick has always been an active member of his chapters holding many board positions including President, VP of Programming, Treasurer, Member at Large (coffee guy). Rick has just completed his 2-year term of Chairman of the Harmony Ranch Recreation Club.  Rick has been a chapter show producer for several years and is a constant volunteer working the backstage at district contests for more than 12 years. Rick has 7 International Chorus medals including two gold. Rick also has been recognized as chapter “Rookie of the Year”, several chapter “Barbershopper of the Year” and most recently the Ontario District “Barbershopper of Renown”. During the COVID-19 lockdowns, Rick was looking for his barbershop fix and found it at the Ganaraska Chordsmen in-person and on-line chorus practices.
